The Big Give Christmas Challenge is now over! We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who got involved, together you raised an amazing £6,000! It’s a huge achievement and will help more children access an excellent education.

Whilst it was a lot of fun taking part in the competition, we’re keenly looking forward to the next stage: seeing your support help the 120 children in SHINE on Saturday projects in Edmonton. SHINE on Saturday uses creative teaching to inject more learning into the school week, reaching children who need extra education initiatives to help them flourish at school.

SHINE believes that every child deserves equal opportunities in education. In Edmonton this is already taking effect, with 100% of the children who took part in SHINE on Saturday at Eldon Junior School getting back on track with their reading, and some of them doing even better than expected.

“We found that all the children really enjoyed learning through a creative curriculum and all subjects linked to the topic. Not only did each child develop their education but they also grew as an individual, developed social skills, and their overall well-being. They learnt the ability to interact with other children and were positive role models when we went outside the school environment on the different trips.”
