SHINE on Saturday @ St. Mary’s School.
The grant recipient
Pupils from St Mary's, St Saviour's and Stoneydown Park will come together in this SHINE on Saturdays project based in Waltham Forest. The catchment area for the three schools is in the top 6% for children living in income deprived households. The community is also surrounded by local gang activity. St Mary’s is an over-subscribed, average sized primary school, serving an ethnically diverse community. It was recently rated good by Ofsted (March 2011). It also recently achieved an International Schools Award.

- Communication and motivation.
- Knowledge of the wider world.
In the first term the project focus theme will be slavery. This theme can encompass a range of topics from numeracy to art, history or music, including trips and outside speakers.
The funding
