SHINE on Saturday @ Sebright Primary School
The grant recipient
Sebright Primary School is located in one of the most deprived areas of Hackney. There are high levels of gang violence in the area, half the students receive free school meals and nearly two thirds do not have English as their first language. The school runs a wide variety of out of school hours activities, all of which have waiting lists.
The programme
SHINE @ Sebright is for 60 students in years 4, 5 and 6 (8-11 years old).
The funding
SHINE has made a grant to fund set up and running costs.
Funding: £169,200 to Sebright Primary School, over three years (2008-11)
